Since the 16th century the Catholic Church has assigned entire months to special devotions. The month of June is set apart for devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is the celebration of God’s love for us. The Sacred Heart is the symbol of the eternal love by which “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son”. (Jn 3:16)
